Are people really, REALLY influenced by election lawn signs? They've always struck me as such a completely useless eyesore. If you base your vote on a lawn sign you saw in your neighborhood, you may require a groin-punching.

it is a way to show solidarity, i guess, but more than that i feel like it's a way people try to shame their neighbors into voting for who they support, like "look! everyone on this block supports Candidate X! if you don't, you're a terrorist!"
