We sat quietly for eight years while Bush ran up $800 billion in debt on a war we now realize was a total waste of time, while he simultaneously cut taxes for the rich and squandered the surplus his predecessor left behind. But we're angry now and you should take us seriously. Because, in spite of appearances, we are neither too stupid nor too frothingly partisan to recognize that the Republicans are mostly responsible for the mess we're in. We're just protesting now because we were busy before."
