Time Travel

You know, I've always looked at pictures and video of the Great Depression and wondered what it would have been like to have lived through those times. After this week, I may actually get that chance. I'm not as enthusiastic about it as you might think.

I keep having the same thought. Every day I look at the newspaper and think, "I wonder if this is what it was like."

Then, because I can't help myself, I think, "And at what point, exactly, do all the people who voted for Bush and the Republicans over the last eight years admit they fucked up?"

I mean seriously, what does it take?

I wish Michele hadn't taken her blog down. I remember several fairly explicit exchanges in her comments section about how they were all right and I was wrong and when we were all wealthy and at peace in 2008 I'd be eating my words.

I'd imagine the hype and fear is greater now because of the speed that information now travels at. Market dives are instantly reacted to and exacerbated, bad news is sent around immediately and the public blame game by the politicians reassures absolutely no one.
