Read the comment on this old post of mine.
Honestly, it's starting to get to the point where so many people are finding my blog and taking issue with my ruminations, I wonder sometimes whether it's worth continuing.
I guess I won't be going to a certain dentist any time soon. Unless there's a nude Wanda Nara working there.
Posted by Ryan at April 18, 2005 01:11 PMThat's awesome. I just had the same thing happen to me a little while ago as well. Some dude started going off at me because I posted about how Halo 2 sucks. Obviously, that's not as long ago as your above post from 2002, but it's still always weird to get comments on stuff that's at least a few months old.
Posted by: Rick at April 18, 2005 01:30 PMI can handle criticism of my blog and thoughts. Hell, Joshua Norton and David Grenier have at me on a regular basic. That's fine. It's when the criticism comes from people I know in my personal life who I didn't anticipate finding my blog, or just local people like that dentist, when I feel bad for some strange reason. My hapkido instructor expressed disappointment in one of my blog entries recently, and I felt bad for about a week. I guess I just have to up my dosage of "I don't give a shit" pills.
Posted by: Ryan at April 18, 2005 01:37 PMWait, so all I have to do in order to make you feel bad is to meet you or live near you? Not really worth it, but good to know.
Posted by: Joshua at April 18, 2005 03:58 PMRead that qualifier, Joshua:
who I didn't anticipate finding my blog
When my hapkido instructor found a blog entry he didn't like, for example. That was unexpected, and slightly embarrassing.
If you were to move here, Joshua, we'd just end up drinking together on the weekends, and arguing until you punched me, and that I'd have to sue you, and you can kind of go from there.
Posted by: Ryan at April 18, 2005 04:13 PMwhat a moron. commenting on a 3 year old post!? i have tons of "i don't give a shit" pills. i'll send some your way. peace.
Posted by: joseph at April 18, 2005 07:58 PMI wouldn't worry about oral hygiene professionals commenting on the blog. When anal hygiene special-ists start examining your content, then you might want to think about closing down shop.
Posted by: The Ohligarch at April 19, 2005 03:52 PMI think it's actually kind of funny. And it's not as though he sounds all that mad or anything. I bet he found it amusing. Relax.
And, yes, a lot of restaurants do butcher foreign cuisine. Did you know that in Thailand, the food is in fact _not_ all incredibly spicy, as "Thai food" generally is in the US?
Posted by: Strider at April 20, 2005 09:26 PMRyan, don't change.
