It's always nice to know there are people out there with such complete disregard of the 2nd Amendment, and who are apparently oblivious to the concept of maintaining a weapon or arsenal of weaponry for the possible event of armed resistence to government.

Though, I also have to say-- I don't think the Second Amendment so much covers general private ownership of firearms. "Well regulated militia," doesn't scan to me as, "Everyone should be able to buy a gun."
But the reason to have a gun? Definitely protection from the government.
I came up with a new slogan when Bush and his pet Congress abolished habeas: "You can have my assault rifle when my lawyer has the right to ask what I was charged with."
