Girls Kick Ass

Kedzie's affiliated with the Mario Roberto Jiu-Jitsu Association (MRJJA), which is headquartered here in Rochester--where I train.

Kedzie didn't win, but she showed a ton of heart, took some serious shots, and kept right on fighting. This was a great Showtime debut for women's mixed martial arts (MMA).

fuck me, that was some shit. And then they're all huggy afterwards. I don't believe that I could beat on someone that hard and not hate them, either before or after, or both.
That was some rough shit. Scary.
Even scarier you pick up one of those girls in a bar and piss her off.

I saw the whole Showtime broadcast, Donna. In my opinion, these girls put on the best fight, and were far more professional, than the male fighters.

That Carrano girl can throw some mean-assed punches.

I dunno. I mean yeah, that was an exciting fight. But Kedzie was clearly outclassed from word go. Her trainer was exactly right: she wasn't committing to the fight. She took some serious punches and kept fighting, but she was also fighting like she was afraid to get hit. Instead of blocking she was constantly trying to slip the punches, so her hits never had enough power to overwhelm her opponent because her stance was always destabilized by her either recovering from or starting into a dodge. And it was a consistent problem, over and over again through the whole fight.

That spinning back kick was ballsy as hell though.

Kedzie's strength is in her ground game, which is what she kept trying to work into, and had some success in the third round. Otherwise, yeah, she was outclassed, although I still give her credit for taking some of the best Carrano could deal out. Shit, I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of her right hand.

I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of her right hand.

Now I think we all know that's a big lie.

And you give me shit for innuendo?

Posted by: Ryan at February 24, 2007 09:43 PM

Ditto on the S-B-K. She was short by a mile, and looked like she was trying to see it connect before it actually did, which is kinda the problem with those things.

But man, good show.

All innuendo aside, I wouldn't want my damn car to be on the recieving end of her right.
That was quite the shiner Kedzie had already too. I showed the vid to my 12 year old buddy, he said the same thing, she was afraid of her, but dayum, she had balls just to take one of those hits, much less all of them. Very cool.

I’m sure all guys who write comments are teens or even younger. If you are older, than shame on you!
