I haven't posted about the weather in ages

Did I mention the weather still sucks? Oh my Lord does it suck!

It reminds me of the winter of 2000/2001. It seemed like it snowed every single day. I believe it was a record amount of snowfall in our area. The cabin fever was intense. So intense, it finally made me jump back into martial arts training just so I had something to do to fight back the depression of a winter without end.

That's kind of what it's starting to feel like again, except that I'm already in jiu-jitsu, so I'm not sure exactly how I'm supposed to fight back the depressive haze of consecutive days of cold with no end in sight. Knitting?

Damn! Since we're heading to Rochester tomorrow for a concert we were hoping it would be so much warmer "down south". Say it isn't sooooooo! Guess we'll be sticking to the skyways and locating the pubs from there.

What concert?

An Irish band called Gaelic Storm is playing over at the Civic Center Auditorium. There will lots ale being poured at the local pubs as their fans tend to take the term drunken Irishman to heart. We're staying at the Radisson so at least it's a short stagger back to the hotel through the skyway. Suggestions for a decent place to inbibe and eat prior to the show?

Well, let's see, if you want a seedier environment, there's CJ's and the North Star Bar. Kathy's Pub is a little less seedy, but kind of cramped. The newest bar, The Metro, is accessible via skyway, and looks pretty nice, although I've never imbibed there, myself.

Mmmmmm - since we're meeting friends from Mason City, IA for the show seedy might be the route to go. Thanks for the tips!

Be sure to fart when you drive past the IBM building!

I'll hit Taco Bell along the way to make sure it's a good one.

Its very overcast and drizzly here today. And kind of chilly, I had to grab a jacket on my way out the door. And I had to drive the car because of the rain.

But they tell me we really need the rain so I shouldn't complain. Well, that and its the next Ice Age across the rest of the country.

The best way to overcome winter depression is to go somewhere nice and warm, like the inside of an oven.
