A Tad Lighter in the Financial Dept.

Late this morning, I shelled out $2,595 for a new central air conditioning unit.

I'm going to go cry for a little while now.

I'm waiting until I can shell out ten times that much for a geothermal heat pump.

I just shelled out $7k for 1/2 of new windows. I'm going to pay another $7k after they are installed. And it's going to take longer than 37 minutes for the install to complete.

DG, that's just crazy insane.

david, that was one really nice thing about my house when I bought it: all new windows.

Try $1400 for air repair on a vehicle.

There goes the vacation fund.

Shoulda paid in $10 bills.

Ryan, you do know there's going to be a cold snap now that you've dropped major coin on the new unit.

But I feel ya, man. Home ownership can be like getting kicked in the teeth except its in the wallet.

At least you've got those purty floors!

5k for refrigerated air, but best money we ever spent, and you don't have to do anything to it in winter, (we had an evaporative cooler before, but if there is any humidity whatsoever, it doesn't work and every fall you have to cover it etc, every spring summerize it etc), you just flip the switch, and you've got heat. Lovin it.

Sounds perfect to me. I have read this post with a great pleasure. You should write much more often.
