Airplane Ambience

By the way, on the airplane trip to Japan, across the aisle from me was some guy who took an Ambien before the flight. Is anyone familiar with that freakin' drug? Because, that dude was OUT of it. I mean, I've seen drunk guys who were more with it. I'll write about it more extensively later, but I'm just curious if anyone of you has had any experience with Ambien, because I'm seriously thinking I should avoid that shit for life.

The commercial states that Ambien contains side effects that cause drowsiness? You think that might be it?

As long as he's not flying the plane...

Did you see the special report on Ambien that aired a couple weeks ago? It was insane. Apparently, the pill has been linked to sleep eating. People would eat crazy things while on the pill and have no recollection of doing it. It seemed to affect quite a few patients on the medication. Some of the stories included - cooking an entire meal & eating it, eating raw bacon, a tub of butter, whole bags of chocolate bars, covering white bread in salt & eating it. The patients had no idea why their kitchen would be a disaster area when they woke up the next morning.
Ambien has now been linked to sleep driving.

The thing is. I had it once and I loved it. It's almost like having a fast forward button in life.

Man, this sounds like some crazy shit... I think I'll need to try some on my flight to Mexico next month :-)

Mandy, the guy on the plane did a little bout of sleep eating, but I'll write about that more when I get back to the States.

Rick, you should really avoid Ambien on an airplane, from what I witnessed.

i don't think you're supposed to take that just for plane rides to begin with. it's a pretty serious sedative, and what if the plane crashed? i can just see more frantic people trying to haul some fat sedated guy off a plane sinking in the middle of the ocean...
