The Cruel Passage Of Time

Picture on the bottom? Taken in August of 1993. Picture on the top? My most recent license photo. I have no way of expressing how monumentally depressing this is.

What I find monumentally depressing is that your middle name is Carroll.

That too.

Perhaps a little smile for photographs of this type would be less depressing.

You're the boyfriend I SHOULD have (and tried to sleep with once.) Holy McHottie... Do you have any younger brothers?

Props to yo mamma...

Sorry Joseph. I'm the younger brother of a four family unit (mother, father, me, brother, for those of you not familiar with my family unit). That's the end of my bloodline, er, as far as I know right now.

You went from happy go lucky college guy with stars in his eyes to bad ass, what's the problem? You definitely look like someone that's not to be fucked with in your license pic.

Oh yeah, 6'2" and 170? Uhh, I'm 5'9" 175, Ryan, we got to get some meat on them bones!

By the way, your license has expired.

That's fabulous. I'm not going to make fun of your middle name here because I already got to do that in person. And it was fun.

The only bad thing about the top pic is that you're not smiling.

And maybe also because you have that look of intense concentration my cats get right before they're about to take a giant, surreptitious shit on my carpet.

Was there some monumentally unhappy stuff going on in the last 11 years or what? You lost all your hair & don't smile anymore.

Posted by: Mandy at April 14, 2004 12:42 PM

Johnny, good catch. I should clarify that the license photo here is my recently-expired one, not the fresh one I carry in my wallet. Same picture though, for the most part.

Posted by: Ryan at April 14, 2004 01:07 PM

aritae, thanks for the gut-busting laugh. *snort*

Posted by: Ryan at April 14, 2004 01:08 PM

Were you spitting tobacco or something right before that top pic was taken? You have a little something on your chin there.

And Johnny and Ryan, you're both a couple of amatuers. I'm 6'4" and weigh in at around 280.

perhaps if you stopped shaving your head you'd look more like you did then. i think shaved heads add at LEAST 10 years to most men. they certainly do not make you look younger.

Posted by: leblanc at April 14, 2004 02:48 PM

Lol. That is depressing.

Posted by: plumpernickel at April 14, 2004 04:25 PM

The fu-manchu makes you look scary! I'd say it's time for a change :-)

Posted by: Heidi at April 15, 2004 10:42 AM

You were definitely a cutie in 1993, I cannot lie.

Beyond that, I can only chime in with the chorus that is pointing out, "Smile, you silly guy." and "Anyone looks better with hair, no matter how little hair it is, you silly guy."

Posted by: Frances at April 16, 2004 09:44 PM

Cruel? Shit, that guy on top is hot!
